OurTeachers

Our teachers are fully qualified and experienced dance teachers. They hold qualifications in the ISTD, IDTA and BTDA examination boards, and are fully first aid trained.

Jazz, Tap and Ballet
Melissa began dancing at the age of three at the Joyce Butler School of Dance - Ealing. Here she gained examinations in RAD. At the age of eighteen she went on to study at the London College of Dance where Melissa graduated with a BA (Hons) in Dance and ISTD qualifications to Associate level. Since graduating, Melissa has gained experience in both performing and teaching, having worked as a children's entertainer, and touring with a Cabaret Company around the South of England. Her teaching experience includes working for professional Theatre Schools, Secondary Schools including St. Edwards School in Oxford and Musical Theatre Companies. She is continuously updating her training; being qualified in ISTD, BTDA and IDTA, and is now eligible to teach and enter students for RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) Ballet Exams.
Melissa is also Principal of Stagecoach Banbury www.stagecoach.co.uk/banbury where over fifty students are taught Drama, Dance and Singing on a weekly basis during term time.

Rosie completed a 3 year Musical Theatre Performance and Teacher Training Diploma at The Margaret Howard Theatre College where she gained her teaching qualifications within the ISTD. She has performed professionally but teaching and choreography are where her passion lies. Rosie has worked in New York City for 3 years at Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Centre choreographing musicals such as 'Miss Saigon', 'In The Heights', 'Leap Of Faith', 'Urinetown' and many others. Rosie worked in conjunction with Macy's department store whilst in NYC on a new musical workshop 'Yes, Virginia'. She was also the Master Dance teacher.

Leah Chittenden

Leah has recently graduated from the Margaret Howard Theatre College, having completed a 3 year Musical theatre Diploma and her Teaching Training within the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance). Leah has trained in many genres of dance since the age of 4, she is still furthering her training and dancing professionally, having recently joined a Dance Company called 'Storylane'. Having been a student of FSD herself, Leah is very excited to be joining the teaching team and can't wait to see what her future holds at FSD. Leah's passion is helping other develop their love for dance.
